Jedward unveil their Christmas iPhone app

16 Dec 2009

Former X-Factor contestants, cheeky twins John and Edward Grimes, have released a Christmas iPhone app called ‘A Very Jedward Christmas.’

With Christmas singles such as Rage Against The Machine’s Killing In The Name and X-Factor winner, Joe McElderry’s The Climb fighting it out for top position on the Christmas music charts, ‘Jedward’ have got the iPhone app charts to themselves.

The idea for a Jedward Christmas iPhone app came from Appsie, an iPhone development company in Jedward’s hometown of Dublin.

Appsie representative Ronan Higgins said: “We were looking to do something fun for Christmas, as a lot of people will be getting an iPhone or iPod Touch from Santa.

“We thought that John and Edward should have their own app, because the iPhone is a great platform to engage with fans. The twins’ management company, Walsh Global Management, gave the idea the green light.”

‘A Very Jedward Christmas’ lets iPhone owners create a personalised Christmas e-card, featuring John and Edward, and send it to friends by email or Facebook.

“The great thing about the Jedward iPhone app being connected with Facebook is that you can post the Christmas e-cards to your friends’ Facebook streams. You can’t do that with a hit Christmas song!”

‘A Very Jedward Christmas’ can be downloaded from the iTunes App Store here.
