British Airways is adding a ‘Paws and Relax’ channel featuring dogs and cats to its in-flight entertainment roster in September, in an effort to make long-haul flights more soothing for stressed passengers.
“There’s lots of research to suggest that watching pets can enhance overall well being,” said Richard D’Cruze, British Airways’ in-flight entertainment manager.
“We have sniffed out some fantastic content that is cute, comforting and sure to appeal to travellers of all ages.”
That content includes the animated cartoon Simon’s Cat, the documentary The Secret Life of Cats, and Animal Planet’s America’s Cutest Dog.
Paws and Relax will also showcase animals from the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in London, which are available for adoption.
