SkyDrive, Deezer, LIVESPORT.TV and more coming to Xbox Live

12 Dec 2012

Xbox has announced a string of new entertainment partners coming to Xbox Live in more than 40 countries, including Ireland, between now and spring 2013.

New apps and experiences coming to Irish Xbox Live users include Karaoke, SkyDrive for Xbox, Deezer and LIVESPORT.TV.

Karaoke does exactly what you would expect and gives users access to more than 8,000 songs to sing along to, with no need to download. An avatar takes to the stage, along with a backing band and stage props. Xbox SmartGlass can be used to play, stop and pause tracks, as well as to browse the database or add songs to the playlist.

SkyDrive for Xbox will give users access to their stored files from the games console, while the music-streaming app Deezer comes with a database of more than 20m songs, plus thousands of artist-based and themed radio channels.

LIVESPORT.TV will deliver live and on-demand video content to the Xbox 360 from sports happening all over the world, including European and South American football leagues, World Snooker, Australian rules football, PSA squash, mixed martial arts, handball, darts, hockey, tennis, Rugby Union, Rugby League and pool. There will also be one-off events available on the network, including boxing bouts and international football matches.

Irish users will also see Fightbox and IndieFlix arriving on Xbox Live. For a full list of the new apps for different regions, see Major Nelson’s blog.
