Website Extraordinaire opens new web design studio in Athy

A web design agency founded by Beatrice Whelan, Website Extraordinaire, has opened a new studio in Athy, Co Kildare, and launched a new website.

Joan Mulvihill, CEO of the Irish Internet Association, officially launched the web agency on 4 August, saying Whelan had shown how it’s possible to bridge the digital divide and change career course.

Whelan originally studied history of art at Trinity College Dublin but then changed her career focus and completed an MSc in Multimedia Systems in 2002. Since then, she has worked for Google and another web development company before founding Website Extraordinaire.

The company now provides website development and online marketing services to more than 50 businesses, both large and small, in Ireland and the UK.

Whelan said she saw a need for exceptional website design and development outside of Dublin. “Many web design companies provide average websites but to succeed online your website needs to stand out and be really exceptional, especially if you are in a highly competitive industry. We like to work with clients that want outstanding results – it is more of a challenge and ultimately more rewarding.”
