Jennifer Romolini told the Inspirefest audience why we need to stop seeking confidence and start searching for more important traits.

“Step into any bookstore, and you will find dozens of books of how to boost your confidence, crack the confidence code,” said Jennifer Romolini while standing on the Inspirefest stage. “It’s all bullshit.”

Romolini said confidence is very fragile and, when it’s shaken, we need something sturdier to hold on to, such as competence. In fact, she pointed out that even if you have confidence, it’s not a good thing unless you have the competence to back it up.

“Confidence without competence is problematic,” she said. “Confidence without competence gives us Donald Trump.”
