PTC’s Paul Haines discusses changes in the tech sector, and how engineering reinvented itself as a career full of excitement and potential.

Paul Haines is the vice-president of technical sales in Europe at PTC.

Having clocked up years of experience in the tech industry, Haines has had the opportunity to observe the rapid change the tech industry has undergone in the past few years.

Engineering as a degree subject and a career has experienced a sort of renaissance of late, successfully shedding its stale or ‘static’ image amid the proliferation of disruptive technologies such as the internet of things and the birth of a fast-paced start-up culture.

For Haines, this change has manifested in how the purview of his role will move in 12-month cycles.
