The dramatic official trailer for Halo 4 debuted last night on US television, upping the anticipation ahead of the game’s 6 November release.

The two-minute teaser, entitled ‘Scanned’, was broadcast during Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. A mix of CGI and live action depicts a powerful new enemy infiltrating Master Chief’s mind, searching for his weaknesses and discovering the source of his strength in the process.

Delving into Master Chief’s mind reveals details of how John-117 and the Spartans came to be. Alongside this trailer, fans have also been given a live-action web series to set the scene for Halo 4.

Produced by David Fincher, award-winning director of The Social Network, Fight Club and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, the trailer was directed by Tim Miller and filmed in Prague.

Halo 4 will be released on 6 November, but the game’s creators have warned of spoilers online after discovering that the game had leaked earlier this week.
