The Apple MacBook Pro line has been updated with a refresh that includes faster processors, next-generation NVIDIA graphics and longer battery life that lasts for up to 10 hours.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro models have faster Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 4GB RAM, 10-hour built-in battery and the new NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor. It comes in two models: one that has a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 250GB hard drive retailing at €1,149; and one with a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 320GB hard drive retailing at €1,499.
Apple says the 15-inch and 17-inch models are up to 50pc faster than the previous versions and run on Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors with integrated memory controller and Level 3 cache for faster system memory access.
Graphics-wise, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M processor coupled with Intel HD Graphics is more than twice as fast as the GeForce 320M and promises optimal on-screen graphics for 3D games and creative software.
While the 13-inch model gets a 10-hour battery life, 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models have eight to nine hours on a single charge.
The 15-inch model starts from €1,799 for the 2.5GHz version while the 17-inch, with a 2.53GHz processor, 4GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive, retails at €2,249.
“The new MacBook Pro is as advanced on the inside as it is stunning on the outside,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice-president of Worldwide Product Marketing.
“With faster processors, amazing graphics and up to three more hours of battery life, the new MacBook Pro delivers both performance and efficiency.”
