HTC ChaCha out now on O2, other networks to follow

5 Jul 2011

The HTC ChaCha, a QWERTY smartphone with a dedicated Facebook button, is out now on O2 before heading to eMobile, 3, Vodafone and Meteor at the end of July.

The ChaCha runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is integrated with the HTC Sense skin.

It has a tilted QWERTY keyboard for comfortable typing and a 2.6-inch, 480 x 320 resolution display. It also has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera.

The ChaCha has a dedicated Facebook button for one-touch access to the social network.

It’s context aware and lights up when there is an opportunity to share content, such as photos, websites, status updates and music. Users can also check in to locations using this button.

The dialer screen displays a friend’s Facebook photo, birthday, their latest status and their photos.

Facebook messages and conversations are integrated within the phone, appearing alongside texts and email inboxes.

The HTC ChaCha is available from free. It will be available exclusively from O2 before moving to eMobile, Vodafone, 3 and Meteor at the end of the month.
