New business-to-business networking site launched

21 Apr 2008

A new website aimed at helping businesses expand www.thesourcepool.com has been launched.

The site is a free-to-use, one-stop shop for businesses in search of professional services.

Companies outline their specific business needs and the site provides them with multiple quotes from business providers. The site generates revenue by offering a qualified lead generation service to subscribing annual members.

The site is launching with 18 business practices, including professional services such as insurance, marketing/advertising/sales/PR, graphic design and multimedia, financial/accounting and legal services, all of which are ready to pitch to a business’ requirements.

“We have selected business partners deemed to be the best by us after thorough research and have taken into account the business profile, client lists and testimonials from their clients,” said Lorraine Scroope, CEO, Thesourcepool.com.

The company was backed in its early days by Enterprise Ireland. Using Enterprise Ireland grant money, company founders Lorraine Scoope and Ralph Hosford, chief technology officer, created a demo model and conducted extensive research.

The company has spent the past year building and developing its bespoke online platform and recruiting elite business providers.

Scroope and Hosford had success with their first online business MyTradesman.ie, which acted as a spur for creating Thesourcepool.com.

MyTradesman.ie established a database of 800 registered trades and 3,000 registered users generated over €20m in business leads in 2007 alone.

Thesourcepool.com aims to offer services from over 600 business providers in more than 30 areas by the end of 2008.

Foreign market studies are already in development and early 2009 is sighted for the introduction of the service to the UK market.
