Kerry-based online stock photography house Stockbyte has signed a deal with a Nasdaq-listed software firm Verity to deploy its advanced enterprise search solution on Stockbyte’s heavily trafficked website.
Stockbyte licenses royalty-free stock photography on the web to art directors, designers and other creatives needing to use images across a range of visual communications.
Headquartered in Tralee, Co Kerry, the company’s images are licensed similar to software for a once-off fee and end users include Time Magazine, BBC, Saatchi and Saatchi and AOL.
“The key to our success is having the right image and making the process to find it frustration free,” said Jerry Kennelly, Stockbyte’s founder and chief executive officer. “The previous search software that we were using did not offer a user-friendly interface for our customers and it did not give us easy to achieve administrative controls and changes.”
After an analysis of available options, Stockbyte chose Verity’s K2E technology for its ability to address all its immediate needs as well as offer a broad array of administrative and user search functions that would aid the site’s performance and sales conversion rates in the future. The Verity software’s ability to scale was another appeal as Stockbyte continues to expand its web-based business.
