Xerox signs €1m printing deal with Jaycee

In a contract worth approximately €1m, a printing firm in Galway has become the first Irish customer to purchase Xerox’s flagship digital print machine, the iGen3.

Jaycee Printing Group was also the first customer in Ireland for Xerox’s DocuColor6060 digital printing press two years ago. Its managing director, Jack Cunningham, said the iGen3 would give the company a competitive advantage over local rivals and allow it to expand beyond its traditional markets.

“Not unlike many of the other players in the print game in Ireland we have been re-evaluating our business to ensure that we can remain competitive and flexible in an increasingly demanding and sometimes global print market.”

Flexibility is a key feature of the iGen3 – different stocks can be mixed within a run, runs can be shorter and every page can be customised and personalised with colour and black and white combined.

Print-on-demand books, catalogues, brochures, direct mail, inserts and flyers are also possible, as is variable information printing.

“Jaycee Printers has really made a statement of intention to drive the digital print market in Ireland forward with this purchase,” said Bob Horastead, director and general manager Xerox Ireland. “Digital printing is the future of this industry. Not only is it important to automate the process but also to provide the complementary workflow software, market development and consultancy programmes to give our customers the edge.”
