A Belfast-based company specialising in statistical and data analytics, Exploristics, has won about £200,000 worth of contracts with US businesses.
Under the new contracts, researchers at Exploristics will carry out projects to support new drug developments for the treatment of cancer and other serious medical conditions, and help develop improved and more predictive models for the earlier diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
“The new contracts are immensely important and will help to strengthen our position in the important US marketplace where there is extensive demand for the exploratory data analysis services that we provide,” said Dr Aiden Flynn, managing director of Exploristics.
Flynn added that Exploristics secured the contracts over other companies because of the depth of its expertise in pharmacogenetics and its flexible approach to clients’ requirements.
He also gave a nod the support Invest NI provided Exploristics when it came to the development and international marketing of Exploristics’ work regarding the use of genetics in biomarkers and clinical trials.
“We are benefiting substantially from the advice and support from the Invest NI team, especially in areas such as innovation, e-business systems, skills and export marketing, including support to showcase our expertise at major industry conferences and other globally important events,” Flynn said.
