Serial entrepreneurs Leslie Buckley and Denis O’Brien are to invest €1m in recruitment software firm Candidate Manager, in which they have a shareholding, to enable the company expand into the UK and the US.

The expansion programme is expected to meet a growing demand by companies that are switching to recruitment management software in a global market that is estimated to be worth in excess of €100m a year.

There is a global trend for companies worldwide to use software to manage the administration of the recruitment process which has been traditionally paper-based.

A sister company of the largest online recruitment website in Ireland, Irishjobs.ie, Candidate Manager was established in 2003 and now has over 60 clients including Meteor, Hibernian Insurance, AIB, DIT, Vodafone, Statoil and BDO Simpson Xavier.

Ken Fitzpatrick, managing director of Candidate Manager, said the investment would help the company to win new contracts for many US- and UK-based companies.

“Candidate Manager has established itself as the largest player in Ireland and we have already won major international contracts against international players. This investment will help us compete and win further business in these markets,” says Fitzpatrick.
