Potato, a UK-based digital marketing company chaired by Irish entrepreneur Dylan Collins, is eighth place in the Drum Digital Census of UK digital media firms, with a staff of 71 people and digital fee income of stg£5.6m, up stg£1.6m on the year before.
According to the The Drum, the company’s fee income grew 42pc on the previous year.
Potato focuses on the development of complex, scalable web applications that sit at the heart of marketing campaigns for companies like Google, YouTube, News International, PayPal and other agencies, such as BBH & Mother.
Veteran developer Jason Cartright and long-time business partner Luke Guttridge set up the company in 2010.
Potato is headquartered in London and has offices in Bristol, England; San Francisco, California; and Sydney, Australia.
Digital entrepreneur Collins joined the company as chairman in February of this year.
Collins is one of Ireland’s most successful entrepreneurs, embarking on his start-up career while at Trinity College Dublin with Phorest, which is still in business today, and games middleware firm Demonware, which is also still active. Activision acquired Demonware in 2007 for an estimated US$15m.
Another of his latest ventures, Box of Awesome, delivers a box of digital and physical goodies into the hands of discerning 8-14-year-olds every two months.
