Acer updates consumer all-in-ones

8 Jul 2010

The already quite snazzy all-in-one desktop PCs from Acer have got a refresh in the form of the Z5710 and Z5700 offering clean lines, chrome and an overall minimalist cool.

Both the Z5710 and the Z5700 have a slot-in optical drive, multi-in-one card reader, HDMI port and optional TV tuner for home entertainment so you can load up photos and video from your digital camera, watch DVDs or play high-definition content from the all-in-one to your HD TV with ease.

They also have 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, Gigabit LAN and optional built-in Bluetooth 2.1 for zippy web access and data transfer plus the built-in microphone and HD webcam will make for handy video conferencing and Skype conversations with friends and family.

The hard drive is a SATA with up to 2TB capacity plus the Z5710 can also be specced with an extra 160GB of SSD NAND Flash memory for faster boot-up times and speed application launches.

If you have an external Flash drive with an eSATA connection rather than USB, even better because the optional eSATA port is great for extremely zippy (faster than USB 2.1) data transfer and backup.

Both the Z5710 and Z5700 are available from 1 August with pricing information to follow.
