David Beckham selling Porsche on eBay

7 Jan 2011

Football ace David Beckham is selling his matte black Porsche on auction site eBay, and the automobile has already drawn a bid of nearly US$150,000. That number is set to rise, due to the car’s owner history.

For the last two years, Beckham owned the car, which cost him US$150,000 – he paid $100,000 upon purchase and then spent another $50,000 customising the vehicle.

The 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo features heated front seats and has the number 23 – Beckham’s Los Angeles Galaxy jersey number and the number he wore at Real Madrid – emblazoned on the front hood, deck lid, rims and steering wheel, and embroidered on the front and rear seats and custom-fitted floor mats.

Los Angeles dealer Chequered Flag is doing the actual selling of the car on eBay.

“This is an opportunity to acquire a supercar with an unparallelled celebrity history,” the listing reads.

The Porsche is up for auction until 12 January.
