Find my car: Apple Maps in iOS 10 will remember where you parked

15 Jun 2016

The days of forgetting where you parked your car are nearly behind us thanks to a nifty new Apple Maps feature in iOS 10

The new Apple Maps that will arrive with iOS 10 later this year will have a nifty new feature that will ensure that forgetting where you parked your car will be a thing of the past.

The new feature will notify users that their car is parked and will drop a pin on the map.

Users will then get directions to their parked car if they need them.

A parked car will also show up as a recommended destination in Apple Maps.

It will also show up on the Apple Maps lock screen widget if enabled in iOS 10.

Users can also update the car’s location to Maps by simply taking a picture.

The new feature was first reported by AppleInsider after a tip-off from a reader.

At the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference keynote earlier this week, Apple revealed its biggest update to iOS 10 to date.

As well as opening up Siri to developers, Apple said it was also opening up Maps to developers.

The idea is to make it possible for users to a lot more with Maps, such as book a reservation, hire an Uber and pay for the lot without leaving Maps.
