Meteor offering cheaper internet access on handsets

30 Nov 2010

Mobile network operator Meteor has announced it is to slash the flat rate for internet access to €0.69.

Meteor says this new pricing arrangement will create 30pc savings for customers that launch internet applications on their handsets and represents the best value in the marketplace.

“Meteor is once again leading the charge of all the mobile phone operators in terms of offering the very best value in the market.

“As a brand, we’re all about your social network, so it’s now even easier for our customers to stay in touch with their own social network. All of our customers, both on pay-as-you-go and billpay, will be able to avail of this excellent new ‘Meteor mobile internet day pass’, making major savings,” said Meteor head of consumer segments, Bill Blake.

The new rate for internet access will be activated when customers begin browsing the internet and allows them a limit of up to 50MB per day. The plan will suit consumers that use the net simply to navigate social networking websites and checking their emails as this 50MB should allow for that kind of usage.

Meteor customers paid €0.99 previously for accessing the internet via their handsets.
