We’ve heard the rumours and seen the photos of the Samsung Galaxy tablet device (variously codenamed Tab and Tape) but what has been confirmed is the Galaxy Beam – the world’s first Android smartphone with a built-in projector.
The Galaxy Beam is not Samsung’s first projector Phone (see: Beam SPH-W9600) but it is far more appealing and has an impressive 3.7-inch Super AMOLED display.
It is set for release as early as July but this is for Singapore, although a European launch might soon follow.
The pico projector is much like the one seen inside the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj but this smartphone – running on Android 2.1 – also has HD video recording and an 8-megapixel camera on board plus a front-facing camera for making video calls.
HTC might currently be kicking the most ass when it comes to Android phones (Evo, Desire, Nexus One) but Samsung is showing that it can also innovate with Android too.
