Zune HD goes on pre-order

14 Aug 2009

The next generation of Microsoft’s portable media player, the Zune HD, goes on pre-order in the US from today and will go on sale on 15 September.

The retro-futuristically designed media player will come in two flavours – 16GB and 32GB – but unfortunately is still not on sale outside the US and Canada.

With an ERP of US$219.99 for the 16GB and US$289.99 for the 32GB model, customers can pre-order now on Amazon.com, Best Buy, Walmart and directly from Microsoft.

From 15 September there will be five different colours available from www.ZuneOriginals.net with the option to customize your player with one of 10 new engravings designed by guest artists.

Cross your fingers that the Zune HD comes our way because it has some really attractive specs including a built-in HD radio receiver, HD video output capabilitites, an OLED touch screen, built-in WiFi and an internet browser.

Oh, and did I mention that is it incredibly pretty and shiny?
