Nokia calls on Irish developers to open up to world of Ovi

22 Dec 2009

Mobile giant Nokia is to host an event in Dublin in January where top brass will give Irish developers, designers and digital agencies an insight into the Ovi marketplace and how they can contribute.

Benjamin Roszczewski, business development manager, Forum Nokia and Petro Soininen, chief engineer, Web Technologies, Nokia Finland, will be joining Nokia’s local team on 13 January to showcase the opportunity that Nokia Ovi presents to Irish developers.

Over the past twelve months there has been a significant shift in development opportunities within the mobile marketplace, with downloadable applications to consumer handsets now offering new business models for app creators.

Nokia said the event will give Ireland’s digital community the opportunity to meet representatives from Nokia, learn more about their Ovi store and find out about market opportunities for developers to create content within the mobile application marketplace.

The event will take place on 13 January between 4pm and 8pm at the Radisson Blu Royal on Golden Lane, Dublin 8. Visit www.nokia.ie/developerday for more information and to register for the event.
