A new Google Easter Egg spotted in cyber space allows users to choose the Dark Side or the Light Side and transform everything from Gmail to Google Maps and YouTube accordingly.
Basically, the new Star Wars Easter Egg lets you choose to have your favourite Google services re-skinned to match the colours and icons of the Empire or the Rebel Alliance. Whichever takes your fancy.
The Easter Egg – which is effectively a Chrome extension – changes your Gmail background to scenes from the Star Wars universe.
Also your location on Google Maps is replaced by either Tie Fighters or the Millennium Falcon and your Peg Man gets replaced by either a storm trooper or a rebel pilot.
18 December – the release date for the next Star Wars movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens – is also added to your Google Calendar.
