A new event to connect start-ups, co-founders and jobseekers is ready to kick off, with the first UpStarter taking place this evening (16 February) in Dublin.

Set up by UniTuition founder Sean Judge, the idea is that jobseekers link with tech companies of all sizes, and potential start-ups can find the right co-founders to get off the ground.

To help with that, a swathe of companies currently hiring will be there, including Bizimply, NewsWhip, Opsh, HubSpot, FlipDish, UniTuition, Elm Solutions, Dynamic Res and Super Pixel.

“The response to UpStarter has been phenomenal,” said Judge, who has also been named Accenture entrepreneur-in-residence.

“There’s huge demand from start-ups for help in finding employees and interns for a variety of positions at different levels.

“Uniquely, this event also provides a platform for those setting up new companies to find a co-founder.”

300 co-founders, developers, marketers, designers and students are set to attend, with this evening’s event already oversubscribed – a follow-up in April is already in the works.

“One of the reasons that we’ve created an entrepreneur-in-residence for Accenture is so that we can further our support for the start-up community through events like this,” said Eithne Harley, marketing director of Accenture.

All the companies with stands are hiring for a variety of positions, including operations managers, digital content managers, UI developers, software engineers, project managers and internships.
