At Jaguar Land Rover’s software centre of excellence in Shannon, coding and collaboration are needed to create autotech solutions.
We visited Jaguar Land Rover in Shannon to find out more about what it’s like to work at the site as a software developer.
Its general manager and site lead, John Cormican, said that the focus of the centre is primarily on “things like autonomous driving, automated driving and connectivity solutions”.
For that, the company needs plenty of expertise. Employees like software developer Richard Taylor have to combine technical skills with teamwork and communication to get the job done.
“When you’re working on something as advanced as autonomous driving, for example, it requires a lot of interdisciplinary and cross-functional collaboration to achieve,” Taylor said.
