Asavie and Telefónica enter into connectivity agreement

2 Dec 2010

Dublin-based company Asavie Technologies announced an agreement with Telefónica, an O2 company, to offer connectivity solutions to the operator’s business customers.

The agreement, which will see Telefónica Group deliver a multi-million euro revenue stream to Asavie, offering customers a range of mobile connectivity services for secure real-time information exchange, which they expect will increase the speed of business processes, improve the quality of data exchange and significantly reduce operational costs.

“Companies are increasingly dependent on the availability of accurate information to fuel business processes and they are looking to their communications service providers to move information efficiently through their organisations,” said Ralph Shaw, CEO, Asavie Technologies.

Explosive growth

“The cost and complexity of providing timely information where it is needed have increased with the explosive growth in new devices, applications, technologies and communications media, as well as increasing geographical diversification and employee mobility. Asavie’s on-demand solutions accelerate the secure exchange of information between people, applications and devices – accurately and cost effectively.”

Asavie, an Enterprise Ireland client based in Dublin, will be delivering two mobile connectivity solutions to Telefónica, Intranet Negocios and Intranet M2M.

Driving jobs and exports

Enterprise Ireland has welcomed the agreement and Greg Treston, head of high potential start-ups and scaling, said: “A key element of Enterprise Ireland’s strategy is to grow a strong base of innovative indigenous companies with the products, services and business development strategies that enable them to carve out their own place in global markets, driving jobs and export sales growth at home.
