The digital revolution has presented us with ways of seeing the world in ways previously not possible. The most extraordinary and mesmerising new view of our world is through the time-lapse lens.
Whether it is through a time-lapse or via drones, or a combination of both, we have ways of viewing the world that previous generations could only have imagined.
I personally love time-lapse because it crystalises things, makes them perfect, and you feel you are getting the pulse of our living, breathing world.
Time-lapse is a technique where the frequency at which film frames are captured is much lower than you are used to. A scene that may be captured once every second can be played back at 30fps.
As a result, processes that appear subtle to your eye – the motion of the sun, for example – become more pronounced.
