Millennium Stadium gets HD retrofitted

Sport fans at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium might soon have trouble focusing on the game with the completion of a £3m (around €3.5m) conversion project that sees the stadium retrofitted with Cisco’s StadiumVision.

The networked giant screen and TV system is an entertainment venue suite that sends targeted video streams to TVs and screens throughout the Welsh stadium – providing advertisers with more ways to reach fans – as well as pre-game shows and half-time action recaps.

The new high-definition video service throughout the stadium can display content in both HD and standard format and can be channelled anywhere from the main screens to the restaurant screens.

Croke Park, Dublin, already has the feature, as well as various sporting venues across the US.
