HP jazzes up business notebooks

HP’s brand spanking ProBook 4310s notebook is giving the business user a style injection with a glossy black finish, while the Mini 5101 sports a sleek brushed-aluminium design and weighs in at just 1.3kg.

Introduced today, both notebooks are pocket friendly at €449 (RRP) each but deliver the goods – the ProBook weighs 1.97kg and is 27.3-mm thick with a 13.3-inch HD LED-backlit display with anti-glare.

It also offers a choice of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 or Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD graphics controllers, and has a HDMI port for connecting HD displays.

The Mini 5101 has a 10.1-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD display and, not quite a netbook, it has a 95pc size keyboard and a nice hard drive size of 160GB.

“Small business users want their business computing solutions to give them peace of mind during the working day and to accompany them in their personal lives,” said Charl Snyman, vice-president, Personal Systems Group, HP EMEA.

“The HP ProBook 4310s proves that it is possible to deliver a combination of innovative professional features at an affordable price tag, without sacrificing style.”

The ProBook will be on sale from July 2009, while the Mini goes on sale in August.
