SMS voting to feature in Miss Ireland search

21 Jun 2007

Eager visitors to the Miss Ireland website will be able to text in their votes to determine which of the lovely ladies makes it into the top 10 of the competition as a wildcard entry.

25 beauties from around the country will compete for the coveted Miss Ireland title in Cork on 30 June. The event will be compered by TV3 favourite Alan Hughes.

The winner of the award will represent Ireland at the Miss World Competition later on in the year.

The public will be given an opportunity to play their part in trimming the herd of beauties down to 10 finalists from the original 25: a wildcard entry will automatically make it to the final 10 based on public text votes. The texts cost €2, with 85c of each text going towards event sponsor RehabBingo.com’s charitable activities nationwide.

Rehab Lotteries managing director John McGuire said: “RehabBingo.com is delighted to be the title sponsor of Miss Ireland this year. We are confident that our association with this year’s competition will be very helpful in maintaining RehabBingo.com’s position as Ireland’s number one online bingo site.”
