Captain America: Civil War reunites Avengers for 2016

25 Nov 2015

Exciting the many ‘Marvelites’ around the world, the first teaser trailer for Captain America: Civil War hit the internet last night showing that we won’t have to wait too long before seeing The Avengers back together.

The release of the Captain America: Civil War trailer on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night is yet another cog in the mighty machine that is Disney, which has been gearing up for the climactic release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens next month.

In the trailer, we see that, once again, Captain America – or Cap as he’s referred to – is in danger, not from aliens from far away planets or evil corporate overlords but the US government, which feels that his renegade vigilante ways are old hat and he has to fall in line.

Aside from that, little else is known of what’s in store for the character played by the not-so ginger, Hollywood handsome Chris Evans.

What we do know, however, is that it will be an ‘Avengers-light’ of sorts, with a few of the cast turning up in Cap’s feature film.

Among them will be Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jnr), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), War Machine (Don Cheadle) and Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

There’s also the addition of Bill Hurt as the face of the government trying to shut him down.

As for what to expect, well, there will be a lot of punching, a lot of metal hitting against metal and millions upon millions of dollars of property damage, yet everything will be fine and life will go on.

Captain America against Terminator, now that’s a film I’d like to see.
