We spoke to Three Ireland’s chief business officer, Eóin MacManus, about the impact of remote working on the country’s networks.

Following the launch of its digital hub on the island of Arranmore, Three Ireland commissioned research into how Irish people felt about working remotely.

The results showed an increasing interest in the idea but prompted the question: can Irish networks support the ‘work from anywhere’ dream?

Having recently enabled remote working on Arranmore, Three Ireland chief business officer Eóin MacManus was confident that mobile networks could handle a nationwide remote workforce.

“During the daytime, most suburban areas where people live are not actually at anywhere near capacity, so it wouldn’t put a significant demand on the existing networks at all,” he explained.
