SugarCRM, a fast-growth US software company, is to create an initial 10 new jobs by the end of 2007 at its new European headquarters in Dublin, siliconrepublic.com has learned.

The company, which was founded in 2004, has more than 250 customers in Europe.

A spokesperson said managing the European customer base was the prime reason behind locating an operation in Dublin and the new employees will support current customers and partners.

Customers of SugarCRM include Starbucks, Mergermarkets, Corona Medical and Portugal Telecom.

A spokesperson told siliconrepublic.com: “SugarCRM is growing very fast. They were founded in 2004 and already have 90 employees and several thousand customers worldwide.

“They currently have 250-plus customers in Europe and 50-plus partners. They are currently aiming to have 10 employees by the end of the year in the Dublin office.

“These people will be employed to support the current customers and partners – rather than done from the US as is currently the case – and to continue developing business across Europe,” she added.

The company’s technology incorporates an open source architecture that allows companies to customise the software to meet their specific needs.

The software can be deployed in a number of ways including on demand, on premise and appliance based.
