30 Aug 2012

National education and research network HEAnet has joined forces with Telefonica-owned O2 to offer students mobile broadband for €9.99 a month.

The offer includes a free modem on a 12 month contract.

Students who want a shorter term contract can avail of a nine month or 30-day contract. The deal also includes €20 off any smartphone bought online.

“Our students need anytime/anywhere access to their e-learning platforms, along with online research and collaboration tools,” said HEAnet’s chief executive John Boland.

The student internet promotion starts on 3 September.
