IT Force provides helpdesk for Food Safety Authority

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has selected IT Force’s managed resources division to provide it with IT helpdesk service.

IT Force’s service includes a suitably qualified full-time, onsite resource based out of the FSAI’s headquarters in Dublin city centre. The resource works with the FSAI’s infrastructure manager and internal IT support team supporting 90 employees.

IT Force won the contract following a tendering process. Its managed resources division provides similar services to many other public sector bodies and government departments.

“IT Force assists in the provision of a professional and responsive helpdesk service. This allows our end users to access immediate help in relation to any IT issues experienced or general assistance and support with IT,” said Tom O’Regan, IT manager, FSAI. “IT Force’s resource ensures efficient, secure and highly-available hardware and software systems, and monitors the IT infrastructure on a day-to-day basis.”

The FSAI’s main function is to take all reasonable steps to ensure food produced, distributed or marketed in the Republic of Ireland meets the highest standards of food safety and hygiene and complies with legal requirements, or where appropriate, with recognised codes of good practice.
