Kilkenny Mayor Malcolm Noonan has issued a public apology on his Facebook page following the ‘knobhead’ comment he made in reference to council’s decision to shelve part of the one-way system.
Noonan made the comment on his own Facebook profile following an online debate on the social networking site over plans for the one-way system.
He said he was sorry if he offended anyone with his comment following the council meeting, adding he was “exhausted and emotionally charged” and that he was “not referring to anyone in particular.”
Noonan said of Facebook: “I had to pull the post, this is a dangerous place to be when you’re in politics!”
