RTE launches new business text service

23 May 2008

RTE.ie has launched a text service for consumers of business news.

The SMS Business Text service enables users to receive business news bulletins directly to their mobile.

Users of the service will receive the top three business headlines from www.rte.ie/business twice a day at 10am and 6pm.

The site attracts almost two million page impressions per month.

As well as news, the site includes share prices from Dublin, London and Wall Street, currency exchange rates and a currency converter. There is also a diary of business events and a useful summary of key Irish economic data in the ‘Economy at a Glance’ section.

The new SMS service will complement the existing Business Breaking News text service where users receive a text alert whenever a big business story breaks.

Messages cost 25c. For more information visit http://www.rte.ie/mobile/sms/html.
