Twitter to release free analytics tools

23 Sep 2010

Twitter is releasing a real-time, free analytics dashboard to help users understand how people are interacting with their tweets.

Ross Hoffman, business development team member of Twitter, said at the Sports Marketing 2.0 summit that Twitter will launch this dashboard at the end of 2010.

The free analytics tool will start as a beta release and will have a phased roll out. It is being developed by the team Twitter acquired in June, who created Trendly.

It will leverage algorithms similar to the Twitter Resonance concept in order to show users which tweets are spreading and who is influential.

This service will find itself competing with companies building their own Twitter analytics tools, such as Klout and Twitalyzer.
