The latest series to be produced by Netflix may well be the streaming service’s most ambitious yet. Narcos charts the rise of infamous Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar and the authorities who fought to stem the flow of his cocaine onto US soil.

A first trailer has today (15 July) been released for the show, underlining that this is surely the most in-depth on-screen telling of the Escobar story yet. Narcos is helmed by Brazilian director Jose Padilha and stars Wagner Moura, Joanna Christie and Pedro Pascal, otherwise known as Game of Thrones‘ Oberyn Martel. All 10 episodes are due to be released on 28 August.
