New platform to de-risk Irish start-ups prepares to launch

24 Aug 2011

A new platform led by business angels aimed at de-risking new venture before introducing them to investors is to be launched in November.

Angel Holdings will launch the new platform on 14 November at Bewley’s Hotel in Leopardstown, Dublin.

The company aims to help entrepreneurs formulate their business plans, give them access to mentoring, and provide a platform that enables them to present their plans to investors.

Executive Director, Adele Hinze explains: “We have business angels, and venture capitalists, as well as mentors from America, Australia, India and Europe in place to ‘hit the ground running’ when we go live in October.

Availability of seed funding at highest level in 30 years

The launch of Angel Holdings coincides with Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011 set to run from 14-20 November 2011.

“The availability of seed funds to invest in Irish companies in 2011 is at its highest level in 30 years,” Hinze said.

“This is an extremely vibrant time for Irish VCs and that there has never been a better time to start up a business in Ireland.”
