Magic moments in cinema have been captured in glorious cinematic calligraphy by artist Ian Simmons over a 365-day period.

All the movies you grew up with from Apocalypse Now to Star Wars, The Goonies, Evil Dead and Fight Club have been honoured in a very special way by Ian Simmons, who produced one piece of cinematic calligraphy in memorable detail each day for a year.

Captured in a gallery on Imgur, each image captures an unforgettable line or scene from a movie that defined the golden age of cinema and informed pop culture in the 20th century.

Not only is the collection a testament to Simmons’ skill and penmanship, it is also a reminder of how damn good the writing in some of these movies actually was.

Enjoy!
