Gigglebit: Game of Thrones withdrawal symptoms

19 Jun 2014

Gigglebit is Siliconrepublic’s daily dose of the funny and fantastic in science and tech, to help start your day on a lighter note.

Like any sector, technology has a serious side, and it is often issues within this serious side that make headlines or that organisations need to explore for their business. Malware! Data breaches! Cloud storage! Do I really need this software? What candidate has the best IT skills for this job, and what the heck is fog computing?

With Gigglebit, we turn the spotlight on humorous and/or amazing content about science and tech, because sometimes the lighter side should be taken seriously, too.

At this stage many of you will be going through Game of Thrones withdrawal following the season’s close this week. You’ve dodged the spoilers on Facebook and like a Lannister who always pays, you stayed loyal to the bitter end and no doubt made emotional by a twist or the death of a popular character. But don’t worry, it is summer, winter is a long way off, and no doubt the wonders of Westeros will be revealed in the next season. But in sympathy to fans, whether you’re a supporter of House Stark or a Lannister, we thought we’d share some of the Game of Thrones memes that are popular this week.
