PayPal launches pre-paid cash cards in US

14 Dec 2012

Online payments giant PayPal has introduced an alternative way for users to make purchases with the PayPal My Cash Card, a pre-paid card that allows users to convert their cash from their wallets to their PayPal accounts.

PayPal My Cash Cards can be purchased from more than 30,000 retailers across the US at a value from US$20 to US$500. A PayPal account is required and registered users can apply the funds on the cards to their PayPal accounts by logging in and entering a PIN printed on the card.

This new development comes through a partnership with InComm, a pre-paid products provider, and gives users the option of paying for purchases online or in stores where PayPal is accepted up front using cash, without any need for credit card or bank account information.
