Tech industry veteran Dr Jim Mountjoy has joined the board of Irish telecom and internet services company Perlico as a non-executive director. In recent months Mountjoy also took up a similar role with Dublin e-payments firm Trintech.

Mountjoy joins the Perlico Board bringing 30 years of business and commercial experience in the Telecom software industry.

In 1990, Mountjoy co-founded Euristix Limited, a software development company which specialised in telecommunications software solutions. In February 1999, Euristix was acquired by Fore Systems Inc for US$80m, a value which increased to US$175m in two months when Fore Systems was acquired by Marconi. Mountjoy formerly held the position of vice president (worldwide) of Marconi Communications Network Management.

“Jim’s track record in successfully building and managing growth within the telecom environment will be invaluable at board level as we continue our strategy to position as a leading provider of high quality telecom services in Ireland and across Europe,” said Perlico’s CEO Iain McDonald.
