Dublin semiconductor equipment maker Xsil, which last week peaked in the Deloitte Fast 50 of high-growth Irish companes, this week reached the No 8 position in the Deloitte Fast 500 of EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) companies.
Last week siliconrepublic.com reported that Xsil achieved an aggregate growth in revenue of 17,333pc in the past five years. It is the second time that Xsil has peaked in the Fast 50, having previously done so in 2003.
Xsil was founded in 2000 by serial entrepreneur Peter Conlon and long-time colleague Pat Rainsford, who also run a digital television technology company called Emuse.
“For an Irish company to feature in the top ten is truly a great achievement and is indicative of the innovation and success in the Irish technology industry,” commented David O’Flannagan, a partner with Deloitte in Ireland.
The average five-year revenue growth for all companies that entered the top 500 of European companies was 1,396pc, double that of last year.
Software firms continued to dominate the ranking, making up 44pc of all listed firms, followed by communications and networking with 16pc.
The top-ranked company was UK-based IT services provider MX Telecom with an average five-year revenue growth of 57,939pc.
Proportional to population numbers, technology firms in Ireland, Norway and Israel were the most successful in the ranking.
