The acquisition of Trintech, the Nasdaq-quoted Irish financial software firm, by US equity firm Spectrum Equity Investors, is expected to take place.

The agreement between the two firms, believed to be in the region of $129.4m (around €93m), is subject to shareholder approval and the deal will see Cerasus, a wholly owned subsidiary of Spectrum, acquire Trintech.

Trintech is to maintain its Dublin headquarters but operations will be largely run from Texas, US.
