Driving the digital society: breakfast briefings

30 Oct 2003

This year has seen a steady stream of reports that have highlighted a growing divide between the nation’s vision of itself as a high-tech knowledge economy and the way citizens actually live their lives and go about their business. The reality is that across both public and private sectors there is a lack of engagement between people and technology.

At siliconrepublic.com we thought it might be useful to try to do something about it. Over the next four months we will be working closely with Vodafone, Microsoft, Datapac and their customers to demonstrate practical benefits of implementing new technologies, from a customer’s perspective in both the public and private sectors.

Our aim is to encourage debate and host constructive forums that can unravel some of the problems facing Ireland today.

The briefings will be the ‘live’ element of an extensive editorial programme that will also be featured on the website and we welcome feedback on the topics, either at the events themselves or through correspondence to comment@siliconrepublic.com.
