The Nokia Lumia 925 smartphone

Nokia’s newest flagship smartphone, the Lumia 925, was released in Ireland yesterday, so we popped into the O2 store on Dublin’s Grafton Street for a quick demo from Lumia product manager James Guion.

Our own John Kennedy put the Lumia 925 through its paces ahead of its release this week and found it to be “a solid performance smartphone” with “sleek and beautiful design” as well as “the best camera technology in the market right now”.

However, Kennedy did note a single significant drawback of the Windows Phone 8 operating system, namely the apps available from the Windows Store by comparison to the well-stocked App Store and Google Play.

Here, we offer you a closer look at some of the key features of the Lumia 925, including its spectacular camera.

After the demo, we spoke to Guion about updates to the current Lumia range and the technology behind the 925, including Here Maps and PureView camera advances, as well as grilling him on future innovations. One thing we can be sure of: Nokia will keep developing smartphone cameras to best serve their users.
