iPad going on sale in Ireland this Friday

Both the Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + 3G models of the iPad will be available in Ireland and eight other countries this Friday, 23 July.

From Friday, Irish consumers will be able to order the iPad both online and through Apple Authorised Resellers.

Pricing (SRP) for the iPad is as follows:

  • €499 inc VAT (€412.40 ex VAT) for 16GB, Wi-Fi
  • €599 inc VAT (€495.04 ex VAT) for 32GB, Wi-Fi
  • €699 inc VAT (€577.69 ex VAT) for 64GB, Wi-Fi
  • €599 inc VAT (€495.04 ex VAT) for 16GB, Wi-Fi + 3G
  • €699 inc VAT (€577.69 ex VAT) for 32GB, Wi-Fi + 3G
  • €799 inc VAT (€660.33 ex VAT) for 64GB, Wi-Fi + 3G

With data plans for the Wi-Fi + 3G model being offered through mobile operators, 3 Ireland recently said it will soon be announcing price plans. Customers will have to order the iPad online through Apple after choosing a price plan.

Other countries getting the Apple tablet device are Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.
