CAO web video guide for stressed students

11 Jan 2008

As a school-leaver, choosing the right college course is taxing enough but filling out course choices correctly on the dreaded CAO form can be a nightmare and with this in mind www.examsupport.ie has created an online step-by-step video guide to cut through the confusion.

This 20-minute video guide is for parents and teachers, as well as students, and takes the viewer through the process of filling out the CAO form. It also touches on important issues for the third-level student: the cost of college life and what grants are available to help out.

The web video is free of charge and was developed in association with NUI Maynooth. It is presented by NUI’s assistant registrar John McGinnity.

The video covers topics such as the history behind the CAO, statistics on the points system and when to expect receipt of your CAO offers.

“The CAO process causes stress for all concerned at this time of year,” said John McDonnell, ExamSupport director.

“We have identified the key areas to be considered by all concerned and explained each in detail.”

ExamSupport also has video learning packs on the main Leaving and Junior Certificate subjects for viewing online, as well as in CD-ROM format, at a cost of €12.95 per topic or lecture.
